ACTS4TRANSFORMATION (A4T) COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION BLUEPRINT

ACTS4TRANSFORMATION (A4T) COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION BLUEPRINT

A Practical Guide for Building Communities Where Nobody Is Left Behind

Key Scriptures

"The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding."

Nehemiah 2:20

"There were no needy persons among them."

Acts 4:34

FOREWORD

Acts4Transformation (A4T) was born from a simple but profound question:

What would happen if ordinary people took seriously the vision of Acts 4:32-35?

For over thirty years, I have been privileged to observe communities, businesses, churches, schools, sports clubs and ordinary families wrestling with many of the same challenges:

Poverty

Unemployment

Hunger

Skills shortages

Social division

Deferred dreams

Youth disengagement

Lack of opportunity

Yet alongside these challenges, I have also witnessed something remarkable.

I have seen communities filled with untapped resources.

I have seen retired teachers willing to mentor.

Business people willing to guide entrepreneurs.

Grandmothers willing to teach practical skills.

Young people eager to serve.

Churches willing to partner.

Sports clubs willing to open their facilities.

Neighbours willing to help neighbours.

The problem is often not a lack of resources.

The problem is that the fragments remain disconnected.

This Blueprint is an attempt to gather those fragments.

It is not a government programme.

It is not a political manifesto.

It is not a fundraising campaign.

It is a practical framework designed to help communities identify their existing strengths and mobilise them for transformation.

At the heart of this Blueprint is the belief that every community already possesses people whom God has gifted to encourage, serve, rebuild and steward resources.

Acts4Transformation identifies these four biblical archetypes as:

❤️ Barnabas — The Encourager

❤️ Dorcas — The Compassionate Servant

❤️ Nehemiah — The Rebuilder

❤️ Joseph — The Steward

When these four groups begin working together under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, communities move closer to the vision described in Acts:

"There were no needy persons among them."

This Blueprint is therefore both a challenge and an invitation.

A challenge to move beyond discussion.

An invitation to begin rebuilding.

The journey starts where you are.

With what you have.

And with the people God has already placed around you.

THE A4T HEART

At the centre of the A4T logo stands the Cross of Christ.

Flowing from the Cross are four community-building roles found throughout Scripture.

Every healthy community needs all four.

Not everyone will fulfil every role.

But everyone can contribute.

❤️ BARNABAS – THE ENCOURAGER

Key Scripture

Acts 4:36-37

"Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement)..."

Barnabas saw potential where others saw problems.

He encouraged Paul.

He believed in John Mark.

He opened doors for others.

THE A4T CHALLENGE

Before asking:

"What resources do we have?"

Ask:

Who are our Barnabases?

Who are our Dorcases?

Who are our Nehemiahs?

Who are our Josephs?

Communities are transformed by people before they are transformed by programmes.

FINAL REFLECTION

When future generations look back on our community, what will they say we built?

THE A4T COMMISSION

"The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding."

Nehemiah 2:20

A Final Question

If not us, then who?

If not now, then when?

And if our community does not begin rebuilding, who will?
